Andy Waugh's passion for design started at an early age and is more than evident today in the striking designs and images he produces. The broad skill range he has developed allows him to take full control of projects from concept sketches to detailed production 3D models and project management.

 

Since 2004, after graduating from the prestigious Transport Design course at Coventry University Andy Waugh has worked for several high profile design consultancies and has completed 8 superyacht projects as lead designer with a further 2 in build.

 

‘Sophisticated Simplicity’

 

Regardless of the size or specification of the design Andy utilises his core philosophy of ‘sophisticated simplicity’ which is derived from analysis of what makes a ‘design classic’. For the most part classic designs are described as elegant in their simplicity but in order to achieve this result there is always a sophisticated resolution of numerous, conflicting technical and ergonomic factors. Fully understanding this phenomenon and being mindful of it at every stage in the design process is fundamental to what makes Andy Waugh Yacht Design unique.
